Well I've now seen Bournemouth live for the first time and how refreshing they are! I've not seen a team look that fit for years. They shut Bolton down all over the pitch and played with amazing spirit. Most impressive.
I thought Sakho's running was a spark for our team earlier this season but watching the effort put in by Callum Wilson showed that is what all strikers should be doing. We're used to Cole and Carroll but blimey does Wilson ever stop? Clearly SA keep telling players about all his sports science bollocks can operate as a brake rather than a motivator.
Sam Allardicci is clearly well past his best as a motivator and his expectations of how fit players need to be was badly shown up tonight. I know it was only against Bolton but all the Bournemouth players looked to be on speed compared to our lot. And reading SA on the OS saying that Burke would not be able to walk after the game at QPR made me really wonder how an EPL manager on £3m a year can make that kind of statement to an 18 year old professional athlete shows me how much SA has lost his drive.
Eddie Howe has shown us the way we need to go. I hope G&S were watching too. Full backs making long 40 yard sprints in the final moments still (STILL) trying to score a 4th goal. I haven't seen that kind of commitment from our team in years. Signing a few of their players and the manager would have us challenging for Europe imo...
